Building a relationship with the political process early on is key to forming lifelong voting habits. The Pinal County Elections Department helped foster the importance of civic engagement by lending the students of Butterfield Elementary in Maricopa official voting booths for their participation in a voting exercise event hosted by their student council.
"On behalf of all Student Council members of Butterfield Elementary, we would like to thank our Pinal County Elections Department for allowing us to use your official voting booths. We are so grateful for your support of our young leaders!" Michelle Romero, 5th Grade Teach at Butterfield Elementary.
"Academia is the foundation for our local communities. Watching our youth exercise civic mindfulness is so encouraging to the future of our great country," Pinal County Recorder Dana Lewis.
