As Pinal County continues to expand rapidly, there are now nearly 500,000 people living in our communities.
The growth of both residential and commercial areas is quickly shifting Pinal County from a rural to an urban community. This places an increasing workload on local law enforcement, therefore taking away our ability to be proactive in the area of traffic enforcement.
hanks to continued support from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS) the Pinal County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a new grant, to the amount of approximately $60,000, which will be used to purchase one new fully equipped Ford Explorer.
This new vehicle will help PCSO Deputies be more proactive in reducing the number of traffic collisions, by aiding in additional enforcement against aggressive and speeding drivers in Pinal County.
"Even one life lost to reckless or dangerous driving is too many," said Sheriff Mark Lamb. "I am once again grateful for AZGOHS's support of our efforts to keep Pinal County Roadways safe for all motorists."
