For yet another year, The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a generous grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS) totaling $270,000 to help keep our county roads safe from impaired drivers.
The majority of the funding will help pay for PCSO Deputies working overtime on DUI Task Force events throughout the year, while another $30,000 will be used to continue drug recognition education for law enforcement statewide.
Finally, $100,000 will be used to renovate the Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force Command Post. The motorhome-type vehicle is in need of upgrades so we may continue to use it as our central "hub" for processing suspects arrested for DUI during DUI Task Force events.
"All Pinal County families deserve safe roadways free from impaired drivers," said Sheriff Mark Lamb. "Thanks to the continued support from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, PCSO can continue to ensure Pinal County roadways are safe for everyone."
