Group 9217

Elections Director Virginia Ross and County Attorney Kent Volkmer provided an update from the Elections Department and related legal matters. Volkmer told the Board that a rough draft of the Administrative Review report is complete and that the final report is anticipated to be delivered at the next Board meeting. He also said that the County Attorney's Office has been made aware of some Election Challenges, related to Ballot boxes and ES&S machines. The County Attorney's Office is looking into them and will provide an opinion at the next Board meeting. Meanwhile, Elections Director Ross told the Board that improved Poll Worker training has begun with a revamped curriculum. The Elections staff is complete, apart from one Deputy Director position, with the latest recruit being Geraldine Roll, an experienced attorney who has worked alongside the Elections Department in past years, on special assignment from the County Attorney's Office.
