Mission
To support law enforcement and provide services to the people of Pinal County.
About
Volunteers are utilized to supplement and expand upon the work of sworn deputies and civilian personnel. The Pinal County Sheriff is grateful for those community members to offer their time, expertise, and talent for the betterment of their community, quality of life, public safety, and the general welfare.
Requirements
Each of these volunteer programs requires the successful completion of a background screening, interview, and required corresponding training. Each position also has required minimum volunteer hours.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Administrative Support
Volunteers who work within the PCSO Headquarters or substations offer clerical support, lobby reception, data entry, telephone response, filing, information scanning, preparing packets of information, working on special projects and helping with community events and educational booths.

Chaplain
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office Chaplain Program is comprised of a team of clergy who provide emotional and spiritual support for Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies, employees and volunteers, victims of crime, survivors, and witnesses.

Citizens on Patrol (COP)
The Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.) Posse is an organization of concerned citizens working as the “eyes and ears” for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Community Emergency Response Team
A product of the PCSO Citizens Posse, the PCSO Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was created in 2023.

Patrol Posse
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Posse is an entirely volunteer unit dedicated to assisting sworn deputies in their law enforcement duties.

Reserve Deputy
We are hiring reserve deputies - including laterals. This requisition is intended ONLY for applicants who are CURRENTLY AZ POST certified. Out-of-state POST or expired AZPOST are not eligible.

Search and Rescue Posse
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) Posse is a volunteer unit developed to support the Search and Rescue Unit. The SAR Posse members are highly trained to locate the lost, render aid, and conduct technical rope rescues over some of the roughest terrain.
